The Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill is one of the most popular modern Cuban robustos available today. This box of 10 offers a convenient way to enjoy a classic medium-bodied Havana cigar that delivers the signature character of the Romeo y Julieta brand in a shorter, more practical format.
First released in 2006, the Short Churchill was the first medium-flavoured robusto produced by the Cuban industry. It quickly earned a strong following among smokers who wanted the refined profile associated with the full-size Churchill, but preferred a smoking time of around 45 minutes rather than the longer traditional size. Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill
Romeo y Julieta is one of the oldest and most respected Cuban cigar brands still in production. Established in 1875 and named after Shakespeare’s famous tragic lovers, the brand rose to international prominence in the early twentieth century. Its reputation was further strengthened when Sir Winston Churchill became a devoted smoker of the marque. After his visit to Havana in 1946, the brand began producing the size that would later become known simply as the Churchill.
The introduction of the Short Churchill was a natural response to changing smoking habits. Many enthusiasts still wanted the aromatic, balanced style of Romeo y Julieta, but needed a more compact cigar that could be enjoyed in under an hour. The result is a well-made robusto that retains the classic Cuban character while fitting more easily into modern lifestyles.
Every cigar in this Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill Box of 10 is handmade in Cuba using selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, finished with a Cuban wrapper.
Construction is typically excellent, with a firm but workable feel, a clean draw, and an even burn when the cigars are properly stored. Like all premium Cuban cigars, these benefit from careful humidity control and a short resting period after arrival. Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill
The Short Churchill opens with the classic aromatic sweetness that many smokers associate with Romeo y Julieta. Early notes often include cedar, light dried fruit, and a gentle creamy texture. As the cigar progresses, secondary flavours of toasted tobacco, mild earth, and a soft honey-like sweetness become more noticeable. The finish remains relatively clean and smooth, without the heavy intensity found in fuller-bodied Cubans.
This medium-bodied profile makes the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill versatile. It works well as a daytime or early-evening smoke and pairs comfortably with coffee or a light spirit. Because the strength stays in the medium range, it remains accessible to intermediate smokers while still offering enough complexity to satisfy more experienced enthusiasts of Cuban cigars.
The box of 10 format suits several types of smoker:
Because the Short Churchill sits in the popular robusto size, it also serves as a practical introduction for people moving from milder New World cigars into genuine Cuban tobacco.

Like all premium cigars, the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill performs best when stored at approximately 65–70% relative humidity. Allow the cigars a few days to settle after delivery before smoking. A clean cut and even light will help the draw remain open and the burn stay consistent throughout the 40–50 minute smoking window. Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill
